An internship offers valuable practical experience in your field of study, enabling you to apply the knowledge and skills gained in the classroom to real-world challenges. It also helps you build professional connections and clarify your career goals. Please review the internship guidelines on Ilias carefully before registering and applying, as following them will enhance your internship experience and support your professional development.

Finding the Right Internship
It is essential to choose an internship that aligns with your career goals, interests, and expertise. Start by researching organizations and companies that match your criteria. Leverage your networks, academic advisors, or career services for guidance and support.

Applying for an Internship
Once you’ve identified a suitable opportunity, review the application requirements and deadlines carefully. Update your resume and cover letter to highlight relevant skills and experience, tailoring them to the specific internship role. Be prepared to provide references and participate in the interview process.

Documents from Your Employer
At the end of your internship, your employer should provide a certificate of completion or similar documentation confirming your role and the tasks you performed. Keep these documents for your records, as they may be valuable for future job applications.

Writing an Internship Report
Upon completing your internship, you’ll need to submit an internship report as part of the module exam. This report should reflect on your learning experiences, professional growth, and areas for further development. Please use the pre-defined templates available on Ilias to create your report. The report can be written in either German or English.

Remember to communicate effectively with your employer, seek feedback, and reflect on your experiences throughout the internship. If you have further questions, please contact the ICB program coordinator at icb@anglistik.uni-giessen.de.
