My name is Xun Luo. I studied German language and intercultural communication at Beijing Foreign Studies University, China, and earned a Ph.D. in Intercultural Business Communication from the University of Jena, Germany. Since 2022, I have been a Professor of Intercultural Communication and Business at Justus Liebig University Giessen.

My research centers on intercultural and international communication between Germany and China. Given the interdisciplinary nature of these topics, I apply a mixed-methods approach that integrates perspectives from sociology, communication studies, anthropology, and modern China studies. My aim is to generate generalizable insights that bridge diverse cultural perspectives while addressing key societal challenges.

In line with my research, I teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Introduction to Intercultural Communication and Business and Research Methods in Intercultural Studies. My teaching combines theoretical foundations with practice-oriented, project-based learning, frequently involving collaborations with industry partners.

Before my academic career, I worked as a journalist and management trainee in Beijing and Shanghai. Since 2010, I have also led numerous executive training programs and consulting projects in intercultural communication and management for corporations and public institutions.
