From June to September 2024, the Chair of Intercultural Communication and Business (ICB) at Justus Liebig University (JLU) Giessen had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Yongbin Xu from Tsinghua University as a visiting scholar. Dr. Xu collaborated with the ICB team during his stay on several significant research projects.

A key result of this collaboration is the co-authorship of a journal article examining the German federal government’s China competence funding policy. The article delves into the policy’s evolution over the past decade and evaluates its implications for future Sino-German scientific relations.

Building on this work, the partnership will continue with a new research focus on the Chinese government’s international communication strategies. This ongoing collaboration seeks to provide deeper insights into the role of communication in shaping global perceptions of China.

The cooperation between Tsinghua University and JLU Giessen strengthens academic ties and underscores the value of international research partnerships in addressing pressing global challenges.
